The exercise Cope Tiger 2012 is a large proactive and reactive air operations training with a high-performance fighter and air attacks on ground targets in combat.
RSAF and RTAF have the exercise annually since 1983 until 1994 at wing1, the exercise was named "AIR THAISING", CPX(Command Post Exercise) be held in Singapore and AMX(Air Maneuvering Exercise) be held in Thailand. In the same time, RTAF joined the exercise "COPE THUNDER" annually with USAF and others at CLARK air force base, Philippines.
In 1992, the political situation and natural disasters in the Philippines couldn't continue the exercise "COPE THUNDER" so replace in Thailand. At 29 June 1993, Thai cabinet has approved the MULTI LATERAL EXERCISE between RTAF, RSAF, USAF. And in 1995, the exercise was named "COPE TIGER 95". The exercise is divided into two part : (COMMAND POST EXERCISE, CPX) and (FIELD TRAINING EXERCISE, FTX).
In 2012, RTAF and RSAF and USAF will join in the exercise "Cope Tiger 2012" which CPX be held on 19 – 23 December 2012 at MOEC, Changi Naval base, Singapore, and FTX will take place between 12-23 March at Wing 1, Wing23, Chandy, Numpong , Thailand.
